Gobi bears, an extremely endangered species, currently inhabit the Tsagaan Bogd, Atas-Inges, and Shar Huls Mountains within the Gobi Great Nature Reserve, where they form groups of 18-22 individuals. To safeguard these bears, concerted efforts are underway by governmental and non-governmental entities, including the Ministry of Environment and Green Development, the Institute of Biology of the MAS, the Mazaalai Foundation, and the "Discover Gobi" organization. These collaborative endeavors are focused on the preservation and conservation of the Mazaalai bear population.

The Mongolian saiga, a unique species, inhabits exclusively the western regions of Mongolia, specifically the Great Lakes depressions in Shargy Gobi, Huisii Gobi, and Dergani. By the onset of 2020, there were encouraging indications of a population increase, with a projected minimum of 5,070 individuals. Efforts continue to monitor and support the conservation of the Mongolian saiga in its native habitats.
